In the last 100 years, wild tiger numbers have dropped from 100,000 to an estimated 4,000. Tigers now stand on the brink of extinction in many countries across South-east Asia.
Conflict with farmers, poaching, and habitat destruction are some of the reasons why tigers are so drastically under threat. Tigers also continue to be held in captivity for entertainment, found in zoos and circuses across the globe, as well as in private collections. These living conditions deny them space and the natural habitat they deserve and cause great concern for animal welfare.
Funds from your adoption will help care for rescued tigers at Born Free’s sanctuary in India and run initiatives to promote co-existence and help prevent human-wildlife conflict.
