Actress Juliet Stevenson will be making an announcement on BBC Radio 4 to appeal for more funding to help the Women and Children First charity. With up to half a million women dying each year during child birth, along with 3 million babies, Woman and Children First aim to save lives through the gift of knowledge.
The appeal will feature on BBC Radio 4 on –
- Sunday 28th November between 7.55am and 9.26pm
- Thursday 2nd December at 3.27pm
Women and Children First currently run projects in Bangladesh, India and Malawi to provide poorer communities with new low cost methods to improve maternal and newborn health. For every woman that dies almost 20 more will suffer from life changing complications. Many of these could be prevented if more information were available to them, and this is what Woman and Children First aim to provide, no matter where they are in the world.
