Nuffield Health have very kindly opened up their network of Fitness and Wellbeing centres and are giving away free five day passes to anyone who doesn’t have regular access to a gym. You can participate in Stroke for Stroke by using a rowing machine at any location, including your home. You can even perform the 10km on open water if you’re feeling adventurous! All you have to do is set your target, get sponsored, and get training.
Having a stroke is the second biggest killer in the UK, with over 1.1 million people currently living with the after effects of a stroke. Many people lose their speech, sight, hearing or memory, and the ordeal can change someones life forever.
A stroke is preventable, treatable, and with long term care, there is life after a stroke. By taking part in the Stroke for Stroke challenge, you can make a real difference by raising vital funds for The Stroke Association and reduce your stroke risk through exercise.
